The best ski resorts in Iran are; by size: Dizin, by modern standards: Darbandsar and by off-piste opportunities: Shemshak. All three are located North of Tehran and easy to connect in a single trip so you can choose between them regarding your interests. Although most of the people prefer Dizin if the high road (the road between Shemshak to Dizin) is open. Especially for freeskiing, Dizin is a goldmine! Besides the great powder snowfield located between the slopes, the resort offers numerous off-piste trails with a perfect view of Mount Damavand. In bad weather conditions that might force Iranian ski resorts to stop running, we can change your picked resort to other options.
If you don’t have your own equipment don’t worry, you can rent any equipment and skiwear in the area, all kind of ski and snowboard, and Alpine ski cross country skis and accessories. it won't cost you more than 15 € per day to rent the full equipment and skiwear.

Details
Dizin, the largest ski resort in Iran
Dizin is not only the most important ski resort in Iran but also the most prestigious ski resort in the entire Middle East. It offers excellent skiing conditions to all levels of ski enthusiasts. It is located 60 kilometres northeast of Tehran in the Alborz Mountains. Dizin is the first ski resort in Iran approved by the World Ski Association for holding official tournaments.
- 7500 m in length and the total skiing area is 47 km2
- It is equipped with 18 ski lifts including a gondola, chair and T-bar lifts
- There is a ski school, ski rental shop and clinic
- The height of 2650 up to 3600 meters

Shemshak Ski Resort
Shemshak after Dizin is the second largest ski resort in Iran. It is located 57 kilometres northeast of Tehran, and this is one of the special features of this area. The proximity of this ski resort to Tehran has led to the establishment of suitable amenities such as hotel and restaurant around it.
Darbandsar Ski Resort
The newest ski resort around Tehran and the fastest growing ski resort in Iran opened about 20 years ago. This ski resort is located 60 km from Tehran. With an elevation of 900 metres (2670- 3570m) Darbandsar ski resort has 6 ski lifts and 30 square kilometres of the total ski area, it allows skiers to use these facilities at night.
The tour operator provides all the information you need and will help if you want to rent equipment, and of course, accompanies you in the piste.
Brief Itinerary
- We will pick you up in a VIP transfer from any clear address in Tehran at 7:00 AM. Normally it will take 1.5 hours to get to the resort by Sedan car
- In the road, before reaching to resort we will have special Iranian breakfast with some interesting options for ordering
- In the resort parking area, we have some few shops for renting any ski equipment and skiwear
- Normally we can start to ski from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM as the tickets are booked for saving time and our tour operator accompanies you in the piste for any help
- Your transportation back to Tehran and your accommodation will be at 4:00 PM and it takes more time rather than morning because of the traffic
Important Note:
If you want to stay there for more than 1 day, we can arrange your accommodation in Dizin or Shemshak Hotel (15€ to 40€ depends on types and services) or in a private villa (30€ to 100€ depends on rooms, location and facilities) with returning transfer to Tehran. It doesn’t include in our tour, but we don’t charge more than the real cost
